I cannot support student loan forgiveness. I'd rather the money go towards reducing education costs in the future. In fact, I want free of cost education that is not need-based at all. Eliminate frivolous activities like the NCAA. Eliminate massive bureaucracy. Yada yada. There are a lot of things more important than just removing debt obligation of students.
One thing I can support is removing government guarantee from education loan and simultaneously making new loans dischargeable through bankruptcy. The problem with this is we are back to square one and getting student loans will be much more difficult.
