We're obviously failing in our obligations towards rehabilitating at least a quarter of all convicts though. That's a big failure.
Imagine being convicted of a violent crime is like being identified as a zombie. Now, I think I will say it is ok for zombies to be imprisoned for life. Why? Because I've given up on them. When I think of zombies, I think of them as dead people. They're only walking because the bodies are controlled by some virus. I hope people will find it reprehensible to think of most convicts as lost causes.
So my question is: what are we doing to meet our duties towards our convicts?
