As I grow older and have an opportunity to use more mechanical and electronic tools, my outlook is changing. When I am driving a car, using a baler, or even just writing a for loop in C#, there is very little that I am doing. There is a lot of the work that happens that I don't do and mostly just assume happens. I am not even talking on an atomic level (which is a completely different can of worms). There are many levels of abstraction involved. Some of them are more obvious than others. I am sure there are some I am not even aware of and I am unlikely to learn them all even if I was so inclined to in my life. I don't think I am being very clear here.
Think of a driver driving a car. I know it is exhausting to drive for long stretches of distance and time but think about all the things the car is doing as we drive. The internal combustion engine is a piece of technological marvel in itself. There are many safety features in the car as well as the roads we drive.
That's all the time I have today for this rambling. See you next time!
