I think it is easy to win the war on drugs. Like with everything in life, we need to prioritize what we really care about and the rest will follow. Don't lie to kids or to anyone. Let people who need the drugs get the drugs in a safe environment at the cost to manufacture it. At the same time, offer support to those who don't want to do drugs anymore. We don't want people to turn to crime so we should make it not profitable to deal in drugs. I am pretty sure not many addicts would buy drugs from some shady criminal if they could consume it in a community center for free or for cheap. Our goal is not to put people in prison for doing drugs. That solves nothing. We want people to take control and ask for help when they need it.
