Printer/Scanner/Fax nothing will work without the ink cartridge. You cannot reset out of this error. Scanner works with an empty cartridge if your printer recognizes the ink cartridge. You simply need to reset the warning by pressing and holding the "STOP" button for several seconds. However, the point is that you cannot scan without an ink cartridge. This is clearly by design. Shame on you, Canon!
