Android has enabled and empowered over a billion people worldwide. This is great but I'm thinking about Android for what I call non-critical, or power-sipping applications. My thought is that existing options are still too lenient for this class of devices. My thought is that (while running on battery) things like run on boot and run in background should be disabled by default and available only to applications and services that users explicitly white list themselves.
